This...is off tha hook

"This is definitely a must own for any drum and bass fan. This is the first ALL ORIGINAL CD that Roni Size has released and it is definitely a change towards the positive. From beginning to end, Roni smashes through dancefloor hit and dancefloor hit without missing a beat along the way. Much respect should be given to Roni Size for his contributions to drum and bass in the past, and in the future. With all the new talent on the jungle market these days, some throw Roni into the monicker of an orginator, which he is most definitely that and so so much more. This mix will be sampled for many many years to come and it ranks in my collection as one of the best CDs that Full Cycle have put out in a long time. With respect to the jungle massive, this CD shows us that Roni may get older and drum and bass may change over the years gone by, but HE IS STILL A CRAFTSMAN at what he does and will be for a LONG LONG TIME."
Nothing new, but so what, roni size is awesome

"I agree with the detractors who say that this album is nothing new. I appreciate size's innovation and experimentation, I consider him to be the most important producer in dnb because he doesn't seem to get tied down by the semantics and nonsense that mire most purists in homogeneity and boredom. I would've loved another strange, experimental album following In the Mode, but i like roni size's music just as much as his innovation, and a solid 70 minutes of straight up top-quality DnB is nothing to complain about. Size is among the best producers of drum and bass regardless of how far from the norm he chooses to stray.

The cd is basically a dj set composed of all original tracks, and true to the nature of any dj set, besides a few standouts the tracks are mostly indistinct from one another. You have to listen to it as if it were a dj set, which is where it departs from traditional roni size territory. New Forms, like Goldie's Timeless, was primarily -not- a dancefloor record, and while In the Mode was more danceable it was presented in a pop album format. Touching Down however, sounds like it could've been recorded right off of a club PA system in Bristol. It's just straight beats, pure unadulterated drum and bass.

if you have musical ADD or are the sort of person that can't stand hearing something that was popular 6 months ago because its "so outdated" then skip this outdated and repetitive album and go buy Return to V since its out now. but if you actually enjoy dnb, then here is 70 minutes of some of the best dnb around"
Roni Size Single-Minded; Excellent!

"Touching Down is a groundbreaking album for Drum and Bass featuring a determined and ambitious Roni Size. He came out strong out live on early 2002 announcing a big year and he definitely matched his predictions. As soon as the first singles came out (Sound Advice, Playtime) they became drum and bass anthems moving crowds around the world, stretching the boundaries of sound at is maximum. And they kept coming: Scrambled Eggs, Feel the Heat, etc. Unlike any previous Roni Size releases such as "In the Mode" and "New Forms," in this album, Size has no collaboration from other Reprasent or Full Cycle members such as Dynamite, Suv, Die or Krust. With almost no lyrics; this album features Roni Size solo, his virtues as a composer and producer. It presents Roni Size clean; his pure musical mind and his great artistic creativity.Original and fresh, innovative, what more to say... Who but Size can include a harp in the composition of "electronic music" and get away with it brilliantly? This album mixes soft and harsh sounds, classic and new, and unexpected drum and bass elements. The result is a Roni Size's gift to Full Cycle records that will definitely make musical history and be talked about and played around the world. Once again Roni Size proves that Drum and Bass is here to stay and climbing to new heights."
