"Ahhh the Student Prince the spectacular musical of forbidden love. Romberg: The Student Prince Highlights is preformed by the Hamburg State Opera Chorus and Hamburg State Opera Orchestra who do a wonderful job of bringing this timeless operetta to your home. Including such memorable numbers as Golden Days and my personal favorite, Drinking Song. Now if you have not seen this delightful operetta than here is the story; The Student Prince is a story about the Prince of Karlsberg, Karl Franz who is sent out to an academy in Heidelberg by his father, the king, in hopes that he might learn more about the country and it's people which he will someday rule. Well Karl Franz becomes rather popular among the students and the barmaids at a local inn, where they hang out, in particular a barmaid by the name of Kathie. Karl Franz takes a liking to Kathie as she does to him. But alas, Karl Franz is royalty while she, sadly, is not. I could tell you how this amazing opera ends but I'd rather you see it and buy the CD to get the whole effect intended by Sigmund Romberg."
