CD Reviews

OOH NO ,NOT ABKCO AGAIN!!
C. BOYLAN | staten island, new york United States | 11/19/2005
(2 out of 5 stars)

"When, but when will ABKCO get it ? They continue to baffle the mind! They do a nice job with the promotional films for JUMPING JACK FLASH and HAVE YOU SEEN YOUR MOTHER BABY,STANDING IN THE SHADOWS? The Films looked superb and the sound quality was stellar. BUT THEN THE DISC (which up till this point has so much promise) FALLS ARART!! INSTEAD OF CONTINUING WITH FINALLY UNEARTHING THE LONG LOST PROMOTIONAL FILMS (THAT WE HAVE BEEN WAITING ON FOR THIRTY FIVE YEARS) ABKCO COMPLETELY BLOWS IT BY ISSUING A BRAND NEW 2003 AUDIO AND VIDEO VERSION FOR THE 1968 SONG.. SYMPATHY FOR THE DEVIL; ON A BOX SET THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE DEDICATED TO THE YEARS 68-71!!WHAT A JOKE!!Also, WHY IS THE SONG TIME IS ON MY SIDE WHICH WAS TAKEN FROM A 1964 TELEVISION PERFORMANCE ON THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW INCLUDED IN THIS PACKAGE? THIS IS NEITHER A SINGLE FROM THE 68-71 ERA OR A PROMOTIONAL FILM.ONCE AGAIN..PUZZLING!! THIS SONG AND PERFORMANCE DOES NOT FIT THE THEME OF THE BOX SET. HEY ABKCO..Where are the rest of the Promotional Films? The MISSING FILMS INCLUDE: 2000 LIGHT YEARS FROM HOME, WE LOVE YOU, CHILD OF THE MOON, NOT FADE AWAY,LADY JANE. THE BOTTOM LINE IS ABKCO DOES NOT KNOW THE GLORIOUS HISTORY OF THEIR OWN PRODUCT. THE PRODUCT IS THE ROLLING STONES: A BAND WHICH IS HAILED WORLDWIDE TO THIS DAY. A BAND WITH MILLIONS OF FANS WHO ARE WAITING FOR THE RECORD COMPANY (WHO IS SUPPOSED TO SPECIALIZE IN PRESENTING THE ROLLING STONES OF THE 1960's) TO GET IT RIGHT!!! THEY CONTINUE TO ATTEMPT TO PIECE TOGETHER NEW PROJECTS WITH LIMITED KNOWLEDGE AND A SHOESTRING BUDGET!! PLEASE.. HIRE SOME CONSULTANTS THAT ACTUALLY KNOW THE HISTORY OF THE ROLLING STONES!!"
