Synopsis

Album Description
We?ve carried tons of Ray Conniff and Percy Faith twofers, but what about Roger Williams? The man had no less than 38 charting albums stretching from the mid ?50s into the ?60s, yet not-a-one of ?em is available on CD! So, we have cherry-picked his highest-charting album, 'Till', and paired it with its Top Ten follow-up, 'Near You', for 24 tracks of rippling piano and orchestral perfection. If you?re an easy listening fan, it doesn?t get much better than this; these 1958 and 1959 records are two big reasons why Williams is one of the most popular postwar pianists in all of music. A 'Collectors? Choice Music' exclusive, out January 20! Includes from 'Till?Till; April Love; Arrivederci, Roma; Que Sera, Sera; Jalousie; The High and the Mighty; Fascination; Tammy; The Sentimental Touch; Oh, My Papa; Brahms? A Flat Waltz', and 'Moonlight Love'. From 'Near You?Near You; It?s All in the Game; Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto #1; Deep Purple; Young and Warm and Wonderful; St.! Louis Blues; The World Outside; Catch a Falling Star; September Song; Driftwood; Indiscreet', and 'Volare (Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu)'.

CD Reviews

Mr Piano !

"Roger Williams has been much more than a simple piano player . He is to the instrumental music what Sinatra means for the crooners . Simply the best.

This selection is just the top of the iceberg of that unequal interpreter of the easy listening music .

I expect the new releases of the best of Forties, Fifties and Sixties .

Forget about other pianist who can match with his class , charm , style and refinemnt .

That's why he is Mr. Piano."
FINALLY ROGER WILLIAMS RELEASED FROM THE VAULTS

"For the first time on one CD, two Roger Williams albums in their original form. Williams is the greatest selling popular pianist in history, with 38 Billboard charted albums--18 of them gold or platinum. "Till" and "Near You" were both Billboard hit singles which were a follow-up to Williams' mammoth hit of "Autumn Leaves." The wonderful bonuses are all the great Williams arrangements and performances, never before on CD, on such classics as "Catch A Falling Star," "Volare," "Deep Purple," and "St. Louis Blues."Nobody caresses and finesses a song like Roger Williams. What's amazing is that Williams actually plays the words on these instrumentals. These two albums are testament to Williams 60 year career, which is going stronger than ever as he tours the world on the eve of his 80th birthday this October."
Till: Near You - Roger Williams

"It's exciting to have these two great albums by Roger Williams on
one CD in addition to the great quality now provided for our
listening pleasure. Not only is it great to hear Roger's great
arrangements of favorites such as "Till", "Near You", "April Love", "It's All in the Game" and "September Song", but also the
special feeling with which he plays such songs as "Young and
Warm and Wonderful", "Fascination" and "Moonlight Love". Here is
an artist with a special talent - playing the actual words to the music and feeling the meaning to each song. This is no doubt
the main reason - second only to his masterful artistry at the
keyboard - that has kept him at the top of the list as the
country's #1 Pop Pianist for over 50 years. And he's still go-
ing strong, doing what he loves best, at age 80! Way to go,
Roger Williams!!"
