"Absolutely an incredible album! The tracks can stand alone or be listened to as one piece. There isn't anything bad about this album. The six tracks with vocals are equally amazing, featuring Beth Gibbons (Portishead), Sonia Tavares (The Gift), Helena Noguerra, and Rosa Passos. I urge anyone who loves music as much as I to buy this album. There's no need to limit it to a genre. This music is for everyone."

"One of the founders of Madre Deus, but this is further evidence of a larger, matured talent. It's a bewildering stew of artfully written songs (beyond pablum pop, something like Kurt Weil musically) and evocative instrumentals (but not the sacharine kind; each musician's skill is pronounced and purposeful). It's hard to say the best way to listen to this the first time, as it's like a box of really fine chocolates... no, not trivial pleasures but I just mean to say that each piece ought to be savored almost by itself. Like a collection of short stories, not read one after the other. They're that good. Of particular, poignant note is "Antonio" by Ryuichi Sakamoto... haunting, exquisite... Intriguing. Beautiful."
