"I will eternally miss Rocket from the Crypt. Thankfully, RFTC have released a live memento that has them playing a hot, sweaty dance party for all of their best friends at the Westin in San Diego on Halloween in 2005. R.I.P. is blazing. And while I could gripe about a few songs that they did not play live (most notable "Savoir Faire" and "On A Rope"), I will instead rave about the blistering versions of "Light Me" and "Boychucker." These two live tracks are worth the price alone. And the DVD is perfect for grabbing a six pack and throwing that joint in the player and watching the boys rock through a lot of highlights from an amazing career. R.I.P. rocket, you will live on forever in my heart and thankfully this show will fill my need for live rocket on my head-phones forever.



P.S. Can't wait for the Night Marchers album. Everything Speedo touches turns to gold baby. Can you dig?"

"Not a huge fan of Live recordings(see my review of GBV live), but this CD is just killer! Great selection of choices from their catalogue and top-notch energy make this one of my top 3 this year."

"I can't call this record the bomb, cuz nothing explodes. But it does have the power to rattle the dead to life; and if that is the case, Rocket From the Crypt brings the corpse of Rock and Roll and shakes it one last time in this great CD. I do not want to write this as a retrospective on the career of RFTC because discussing their fifteen years of jelling rock, rockabilly, and even Americana into a So Cal punk aesthetic doesn't do justice on the influence that has permeated today's society. But the influence of RFTC (and John Reis' multiple side projects) is everywhere. For those who want to start getting into RFTC, it is fitting that the best beginning is in the end.



This recording of their last show, in a San Diego hotel ballroom, encapsules the ferocity and exuberance of a Rocket From the Crypt show. This isn't an easy experience: the crunch of the guitars, the blaring horns, and the vitriolic, almost snotty lyrics create a frenzy for a crowd begging for one more song. The songs hold up, with "A+ in Arson Class", "Boychucker", "Ditch Digger" and "Come See Come Saw" burning up the frets and turning the crowd into a frenzy. There is nary a time to breathe throughout the entire performance; and RFTC would prefer that they left you that way: breathless.



Pick this one up. If this aesthetic is even remotely in your veins (from classic punk rock to rockabilly), then this is a great record for you."
