CD Reviews

Woo hoo great
Thomas P. Mcauliffe | Michigan | 10/22/2007
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Except for the song "Untrue" on this cd this is quite a good album, and may be somewhat rare , although I was pleasantly surprised to find it available through Amazon. Most of these songs are from around 1960,and they tend to sound like songs of the mid and late 50's.The best song in my opinion is Woo Hoo, an all instrumental song. The singing on the other songs in this album is ok, but not the reason I bought this, I bought this for Woo Hoo.There isn't any info on the group in this cd package, just the cd itself, and some info on "collectable"label in Narbeth PA.which does a good job with a lot of these old collectable songs. To find out more about the Rock A Teens(this particular group) you'll need to go online, but don't be mixed up with another group with same name, for they are a whole different story and completely different music. These guys are from Richmond Va.(the original group we're talking about here)."
Five stars for my Dad!

"My late Dad, Eddie Robinson, played sax in the Rock-a-Teens when it all began.

He was 17 years old.

If you are interested in the story of the band, an article was written about them in the December 16, 2009 issue of Style Magazine, a local Richmond, VA paper.

I am sure it can be found online."
