They are kinda like a cross between le tigre and Miss Kittin. I love them !!!" RID are an indie band, who sometimes use lots of synths, and sometimes use guitars. They are also clever and VERY wry. The vocal hook from the first track "The DJ's got a Gun", a sarcastic swipe at the club scene, is a vocoded "everybody get your hands in the air and get down on the floor." If you don't find that funny, you probably won't "get" RID. I prefer their previous album, which is more musically sparse with heavy-handed bass, to this album, which is more 'neo-new-wave', but this is still a good CD. Favorite Tracks: "Turn it Up" (more like their first CD) and "The DJ's Got a Gun"." Sham - pooh! ... not that that's a bad thing!
