CD Reviews

Amazing CD, get one!

"I love this CD, I never go more than a couple weeks without listening to it. It's mostly songs he wrote for Eddie from Ohio, along with a couple covers (like an awesome version of the Police's "Message in a Bottle"), and a couple originals that haven't been recorded, like "Backbeat". When the CD first came out, many of the songs were new, but have since appeared on EfO's CD "This is Me."

It's interesting to hear many of the songs sung by Robbie, and not Julie Murphy-Wells. "Interesting" can mean better, or worse, depending on your point of view.

Great CD, whether you're an EfO fan or not, it's great music either way. The only song I'm not a huge fan of is his cover of "Vincent." Never really was a fan of the song, so nothing to do with Robbie."
That voice, that guitar, those songs...

"Couldn't believe there's only one review of this album so far. Robbie Schaefer is the trifecta of new folk: singer-player-writer. I love Robbie's voice and style. I agree with the many who point out that he has a timbre similar to James Taylor, though Robbie's range is greater and his style less in the easy-listening genre. Oh, never mind comparisons--his voice is beautiful. Robbie writes character sketches, modern psalms, a love ballad here, an anthem there--lyrical in both the language and the music. On this live album you can hear how well he interacts with the audience, you can hear his take on others' songs, and you can also get a new perspective on some of the songs that Julie Murphy-Wells headlines on when he's with Eddie from Ohio. Enjoy it!"
