"More than you know for me is the moving highlight of this beautifull and amazing Rita Reys album from 1969. Reys is also, more than a lot of people know, one of the finest jazz singers the world has ever know. She's known as Europe's first lady of jazz, but only apreciated in full in her native country The Netherlands. Still active, but Reys was in 1969 at the height of her career. The album was recorded in London (the album was later also released under the title Rita Reys in London). What makes this album so special? Well, it is the combination of sublime bigband jazz (The moment of truth, You'd better love me) and really hairraising moving ballads (When I look in your eyes, the look of love and more than you know). Finally this album is reissued on cd, but only for the Japanese market. Credit to them for releasing all the wonderful Reys albums on the market. I still hope they, or any other company, release the three songbook albums that came after Today: Rita Reys sings Bacharach, Legrand and Gershwin. But first start, today!, with Rita Reys today and then move to the other three. It's a fine introduction to a wonderful jazz singer. You will be rewarded. Highly recommended!
