Album DescriptionThe prolific Rick Barton has emerged from Woolly Mammoth Studios in all of his tattered glory. One Way Productions' "American Rock Song" marks the debut of "Rick Barton and the Shadowblasters" with sonic echoes of "The Dropkick Murphys" [for whom he was the co-founder and primary songwriter] married with the well crafted power pop/punk of "The Outlets" [with whom he cut his teeth with his brother David]. This action packed twelve song endeaver features performances from such diverse Boston talentas Joe Donnelly; drums ["The Del Feugos"], Billy Loosgian; lead guitar ["Willie Alexander and the Boom Boom Band"], Jimmy Gambino; keyboards, Paul Kochanski; bass & Craig McIntyre; drums ["The Swinging Steaks"] and, last but not least Greg Burgess; guitar ["The Amazing Royal Crowns"]. The songs are a mosaic of three-chord anthems, punk shanties and testortrogen laced confessionals for the underdog, the working class anti-heroes amd two-time losers in the tradition of "The Clash", "Cracker" and "Social Distortion".
