CD Reviews

Generic and bland
M. D. Fonseca | Thunder | 06/01/2005
(2 out of 5 stars)

"Generic and bland album by Kotzen. He played and wrote everything here, there is not aven a band credited. I assure, there is absolutely nothing spectacular here; even the solso are dumb and pedestrian. A total dissapointment. (oh, his vocals are good)"
Stunner of an album
Fusion | East Oakleigh, Victoria Australia | 05/23/2006

"Whoa... I thought Ritchie Kotzen was a run of the mill hair metal guitarist, all flash no substance. How wrong can you be?

This album is awesome. Here you get great songs (every one) with excelent instrumentation. Ritchie's vocals are outstanding, and his guitar playing is "for the song", concise and to the point. Still plenty of great guitar but without the self indulgence. The style is sort of 70s Funk Rock. This is the album that Lenny Kravitz dreams about making. All I can say JUST BUY IT. Now I have to go and check out his other stuff.

A very good album

"i usually speak in spanish, so i'll try to write it as good as possible.

i think that this album is very good, as goog as 'mother's head family reunion'. it sound powerfull (but don't think that it's a kind of thrash, of course), it has very good songs (my best ones are 'fantasy', 'get up', 'SO COLD'...), few ballads ('remember' and 'special'), his voice and guitars sounds awesome (a strange kind of guitarist who can sing!)...

in my opinion, richie kotzen is a very underrated artist (in my country he is a kind of... 'cult' or something), and this is one of his best works on hard rock (i think that his best is 'WHAT IS')."
