Nicely Done
for what it's worth | Maryland, USA | 04/08/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Perpetual continues to turn the corner in the bands new direction. The line up this time consists of Lenny Wolf (Mr. Kingdom) who continues to write and perform the songs while Eric Foerster handles the guitar solos. The result is an excellent blend of WELL THOUGHT OUT melodic compositions with a hard rock riff (the equivalent of a fine coctail followed by a whisky chaser).

The album begins with the sound of an engine in the electricfying "Gotta Move Now," which sets the driving force that is continued in the concluding song "Free Bird" (not to be confused with Skynyrd). The third song "Crown of Moscow" is a stunning ballad; however, it's etherial beginning is marred by distortion do to poor mix down (shame on ya Genkel, Lenny's gonna have to smack ya one). More fantastic tracks are to follow, such as "Silhouette Paintings, Sun in the Mind, King of Nothing, Connecting Pain, Dragonfly," and of course "Gotta Move Now, and Free Bird."

Wolf is to be congradulated on his effort to give the band it's fresh new sound blending the ambient, hard rock pace, and trademark vocal. The talent that Mr. Wolf possesses is to keep his vision vintage while expanding new sounds. Not easy to do for a band that's almost 20 years old. It is an evolution that can be heard from the bands milestones such as the first self entitled album to Master 7 to Independent and to it's most current success Perpetual.

I have been a fan since the beginning. The bands catalog was hard to collect, but I managed to do it over the years. I enjoy the fact that they are underrated and NOT overplayed. That makes this music even more personal for me. Let's give credit, where credit is do: Nicely done gentlemen, I can't wait for the next effort."

"This Album is a great album. Although it may be a bit different than the past albums, but isn't that what you're supposed to do with music, try new things. You can't always be the same or it wouldn't be a n new album. I have all the albums and I do believe this one to be one of the best yet. Can wait until the next one."
