Synopsis

Product Description
Ric Hordinski's new album is available via Ol Kentuck Recordings on CD and Limited Edition 12'' LP (only 300 pressed). Ric is perhaps best known as a founding member of the band Over the Rhine. He has also released several acclaimed solo albums under his own name and the moniker Monk. This new collection of songs was recorded and produced by Ric in his beautiful recording studio located in an old church in Cincinnati, OH. The record is entirely instrumental save the track, ''Time Enough'' which was co-written by and features vocals from Daniel Martin Moore. The album cover is designed by illustrator David Sheldon, and the LP package features a beautiful photograph by Michael Wilson. The music is richly textured and full of warmth and subtlety, and is almost entirely acoustic - which means it's a departure of sorts from the sound-scapes that we often associate with the guitarist. Of his inspiration for the project, Ric said, ''A couple of years ago I toured playing guitar for one of the great guitarists of our generation, Phil Keaggy. The record we were touring required me to dust off my classical and steel string acoustic guitar chops. This was more challenging (and rewarding) than I could have imagined. The influence of that music and tour on this recording was enormous and I think it planted a seed in me to try my hand at one of the most demanding kind of recordings I could make - one centered around the simple sound of strings vibrating a tiny little cathedral of wood: The Acoustic Guitar.''
