Long Lost Treasure!!! Robert L. Slaughter Chewee One

"It never goes to surprise me just when you think it won't happen. A long lost CD you dream of finding is finally released. This Album is Great Rock And Roll. I remember upon it's first release this and "Where do we go from Here". My friends and I loved this Band. Very Very unrated stuff the brother of Michael Lee Smith of STARZ. Hard on Rock and Roll with great vocals. I often wonder if Rex himself is proud of these two albums? Now working in Real Estate in Southern California. Well he should be this is some of the Best Rock and Roll to have come out of the 1970's!!! Iam very happy these have finally been released!! Thank you to the Gods of CD's. Every one reading this review should purchase these even if it is used copies!! All I can say is "BABY NEEDS A NEW PAIR OF SHOES & Seven Come A Eleven and of course "Trouble" yeah yeah yeah!! Where ever you are Mr. Smith I will turn it towards the Wind and crank it up loud so you may here it travel thru the Air. In Closing a must for anyone who enjoys true Hard Rock Rock On REX!!!!!!"
A lost 70's HARD ROCK classic

"Rex Smith went on to have a very successful career as a teen idol but this lp and its follow-up "Where Do we Go From Here?" are 100% Grade-A 70's hard rock.

These both escaped my attention until I read about them in Martin Popoff's excellent book on 70's hard rock and these are both a revelation.

Fans of solid bands from this era like STARZ (featuring Rex's brother on vocals), early TED NUGENT and RAM JAM should love this.

Rex has a powerful and expressive voice and his band are tight. This is very much a band effort however - showing that Smith can be a team player when its called for. The bass player - Orville Smith - is a standout on this record.

Highly recommended - and btw, I've done some reading on Rex Smith's career and he seems like one of the "good guys" so throw some support to the man's hard rocking past. You won't regret it.

"Received my cd quite fast. I have been waiting for this cd for 30 years. I am glad they finally reissued this cd. If you are into music or remember the 70's, this would be a fun purchase. This is a rocking band that broke up for some reason or other. I saw them in concert every time they came to Louisville. Rex Smith went his own way with the soft rock and Broadway plays. Big loss for the rock world, but he gained more fans with the direction he took. He doesn't even acknowledge this era (R & R) of his career, and I think he fought the release of his rock cd's. Brother of lead singer for another band - Starz - that was more popular than Rex."
