Why not the ORIGINAL sides ?
Charles H. Levenson | new jersey | 10/21/2006
(3 out of 5 stars)

"In the 1970s I was feeling experimental, and so I purchased a Renee Geyer long-playing album,on the polydor label...Among other things the album had the song"Heading in the right direction"on it..I was hooked...Over the years, while discarding most of my other long-playing albums,I have hung on to the Renee Geyer lp in the vain and futile hope that it would one day make it's way onto CD...IT HASN'T HAPPENED YET,despite the nonsense that"Heading in the right direction"and the rest of Ms.Geyer's hits are available in thier original format here,on this three cd set...Sure,they are here, but in OTHER renditions...Now some may quibble and some may contest my claim, but I have the long-playing album still, and the version heard on it,and all other versions that I have thus far encountered on CD differ..while I only have the polydor lp(entitled"Renee Geyer")and, therefore, can only compare the sides contained on it with those so far issued on CD,the results have been uniform;the lp sides and the CD sides do not match...

Perhaps then,in the 1970s,the folks at Polydor wanted Ms.Geyer to give U.S.audiences a different sound than she gave her native audience back home in Australia, but whatever the reason, the original sides have yet to surface on cd..

So if you are looking for the exact duplicate sides from Ms Geyer's 1970s Polydor outing then these cds are not for you...If on the other hand you will be content with different versions then by all means buy this package...Ms.Geyer is talented, her repetory is varied, and all of her hit songs are here, just not in thier original 1970s incarnations..."
