Synopsis

Album Description
"Spaghetti Western Reggae" "Western Hendrix/Marley Reggae" Dreadlocks meets stetsons in the REGGAE COWBOYS, a guitar-ripping Toronto posse stampeding their way across North American and Europe. Canadians with roots in the Caribbean, the COWBOYS break new ground by marrying reggae with all the elements of western music ? rock, blues, R&B, jazz.....Over the past 4 years they?ve been receiving raves from critics and fans for their genre-defying style and challenging lyrical content. "This band has taken reggae to a new dimension - reggae tinged with blues, country, R&B, jazz." XNews, Jamaica ..."Toronto-based (but tropical-born) Reggae Cowboys, a jamming band with strong appeal to fans of both Bob Marley and the Grateful Dead. " (Philadelphia Daily News) Debut album, "Tell the Truth" was first released in Dec '96 by Pure/MERCURY Records. Follow-up, "Rock Steady Rodeo" was released in Aug '99 by RKYODISC. The group is recording their third album now for release in Jan '02.

CD Reviews

This CD is a galloping good time, positive vibrations!!!

(5 out of 5 stars)

"I have heard this CD daily for the past week. It is something that I crave and sing throughout the day. I really dig the low bass and that wandering lead guitar. These musicians create an atmosphere of the old west and a posse on the road. I respect their message, giving black cowboys credit in history. No sad songs here just a rip roarin' good time!! The Reggae Cowboys have become one of my favorite new bands. Buy the CD, you'll be happy that you did!!"
