Product Description"Unlucky Genes" is the first Red Lights record, recorded mainly by the band's bass player Shawn Hafley. Recording was completed in the early spring of 2005 and the almost-finished product was mastered by JJ Golden, whose mastering clients include Spoon and Sonic Youth, among others. The 9 songs on the album each possess unique character and arrangements, and the band put a lot of thought into the texture of these compositions. About the only thing you can count on is layer upon layer of guitars, and the beautifully uncommon voice of singer James Paasche. Favorable comparisons to Modest Mouse, Bedhead, Yo La Tengo, and New Order make the rounds frequently.
