Bright, Breezy and Satisfying

"Red Garland once got the rap that he was a glorified cocktail lounge pianist. Believe me I would have been a regular at any cocktail lounge where he was playing! In truth Red Garland was a great jazz pianist period! Just check out how many of his recordings remain in print after all these years. That tells you a lot! Any of his CDs are worth owning; my favorites include those featuring him in a trio setting with bassists Sam Jones or Paul Chambers and drummers Art Taylor or Charlie Persip. Here he plays with Jones and Persip. Listen to any cut and you will be treated to consistently inventive swinging jazz. Maybe some folks took him for granted because he made it all sound so effortless. Don't take him for granted! Enjoy him!"
It Wouldn't Be Bright Of You To Miss Out On "Bright And Bree

""Bright And Breezy" is yet another record by the Red Garland Trio that is outstanding. If you haven't even heard them, then picking up this release would an excellent start. I own everything Garland has recorded and I'm constantly amazed at how many jazz fans don't mention his name at all. He should be apart of every jazz collection. His work with Miles Davis and John Coltrane was great, but where Garland really shines is his own recordings in my opinion. Red is joined by Sam Jones on bass and Charlie Persip on drums. A great swinging album. Highly recommended."
