"Ray Smith was really one of the best rockabilly performers of his day and there are some killer tunes on this CD.

If you are a die-hard fan of obscure or somewhat forgotten rockabilly talent then you have to have this CD. Be sure to check out the song "Rockin' Bandit."

Pure rockabilly love!"

"SNAPPER has reissued a series of SUN RECORDS ROCKABILLY LEGENDS of which this is the first I bought because I have almost nothing by RAY SMITH. THE WHOLE SERIES IS well-packaged with a nice 12 page booklet with pics..sound quality is excellent considering when this was recorded. ONE OF THE LESSER KNOWN ARTISTS OUT OF THE SUN RECORDS stable and yet a fine rockabilly singer; this set truly rocks! I am reminded of JACK SCOTT,EDDIE COCHRANE, AND OF COURSE [EARLY] ELVIS. IF YOU LIKE ROOTS ROCK, WHICH THESE DAYS IS BEING BUNCHED UNDER THE CATEGORY 'AMERICANA'..(WHAT DOES THAT MEAN,ANYWAY?)..THIS IS AS AMERICAN AS YOU CAN GET! THE BEAR FAMILY CD BY RAY IS QUITE EXPENSIVE AND THIS OFFERS A PLEASANT AND FAIRLY PRICED WAY TO PICK UP SOME GREAT MUSIC...RECOMMENDED....BRITMAN46"
