CD Reviews

ANGELIC!
Leslie | 11/09/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is one of the more unheralded soundtracks that there is, another fine working by Randy Edelman. I have around 50 soundtracks, and this is still in my top 10. The main theme, played in large part in tracks 1 and 2, is in or near my top 5 themes from all the tracks on all the soundtracks I've heard. I know many may look at this as a cheesy kids baseball flick, and ignore the soundtrack. But I don't know how they can. The majestic music is so pivitol to the power of the movie, and I fell in love with it immediately. With three of Randy Edelman's themes (Angels..., Dragonheart, and Gettysburg) in my top 10, and two of his soundtracks (This and Dragonheart) I am really beginning to search out other titles of his more and more. He has a wonderful skill at bringing out such powerfull and moving pieces of music, the granduer of which easilly puts him in the category of the other great composers. I really hope more people discover this CD, and buy it. Because it is truly one of the greats, and yet is reletively unknown. If you're reading this, I strongly urge you to buy it. I don't think you'll be disapointed!"
Good Soundtrack

"If you love the music you hear in the movie, then you'll like this soundtrack. The reason I rated it 4 stars is because you don't hear the big fanfare music featured in the end scene where Tony Danza's character feels all wiped out."
A good overall soundtrak
Jeff | Boiling Springs, PA United States | 07/24/2000
(4 out of 5 stars)

"This soundtrak was one of the first 10 or so I have picked up, and although it is not one of my all time favorites, it is a very solid one from the first song to the last. Not many soundtraks today are able to do this. The main theme is not one of the best ever, but for Randy Edelman, his theme for Gettysburg was probably the only one he's done better. This soundtrak isn't one that will leave you wanting to hear it over and over again, but if you are working on something in the office or home, or if you just want some good entertaining music, then put this into your CD player."
