"As the owner of all of Mr. Votapek's CD's and most of his past recordings, I would rate this as one of his best. From the Preludes we are most familiar with (The Girl with the Flaxen Hair, Ondine, Sunken Cathedral, etc.) to those we don't often hear, his masterful interpretation of the impressionistic style of Debussy is impeccable and authentic - not too much rubato or overpedaling, but enough to be satisfying. The fast and most difficult pieces (as in What the West Wind Has Seen and Fireworks) will give you chills. Votapek's incredible energy and excitement is as evident on his CD's as in live concerts.
