CD Reviews

Overdue and Most Wonderful!!!!!!
Terry D. Schmidt | Tenn, USA | 12/03/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"It's about time a retrospective set was done on this fine English singer-songwriter's long career. Always pretty much unknown in the United States but a national treasure in Britian, Mc Tell deserves a set like this and more, please! With four discs issued by his own recording company this set hits most of the highlights of his 40 year career but, of course long time fans will start counting the ones they missed and should haves but, that would have run to at least six discs! Good selection of rarities, nice booklet makes this worth the price. Shame he never made it in the US, maybe we don't deserve someone this good, just James Taylor and Jackson Browne. McTell WIPES THE FLOOR with both of them and is one hell of a great guitarist and singer to boot! This box set will be wonderful for long time fans, maybe a little too much for new ones. If you're new to him find any of his Lps/Cds and give him a try, he's original and addictive!! Good job on this Ralph!"
