"Finally Almost Ready--- the Ragbirds third and best CD demonstrates that the huge talents of Erin and the boys have "finely" reached a whole new level as multi-instrumental whizzes with a flair and panache for "folk" music, island reggae flavors, ghana djambe drum music, gypsy and bluegrass--we saw them open for our favorite band (Railroad Earth) about a month ago and their enthusiasm and energy totally blew us away, and to say they "almost" nearly stole the show from Railroad Earth might not be over-stating just how good (and how ready) they really are, and with this Tim Carbone (Railroad Earth) produced disk, the band has broken new recording heights, soared to new jazz-jam-friendly places and taken their growing flock of E-bird fans ("Book of Matches"-- number 2 on the Japan pop charts!!!) on one primal and joyful ride of eclectic and wonderful sounds....saw them again just last week with the Macpodz and Ultraviolet Hippotamus (if only we could have had Bluesky Greengrass and Railroad Earth join the fun!) and we had an amazing night of all Michigan music.....and these Ragbirds, tired after a long tour, still beat the other best new jam bands in Michigan at the own game: fly --don't run--to the nearest outlet or computer and order this fantastic release, get this fabulous Ragbird disc anyway you possibly can, play it until it shines....they certainly do!
