CD Reviews

A classic rock album that continues to inspire.
Birdman (dbsgbird@pacific.net.sg) | Singapore | 05/06/1999
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Coming after the groundbreaking 'Radios Appear' this album clearly has a more 'produced' feel to it,though it lacks none of the passion that characterised the band.Songs like 455 SD and Burn My Eye contain enough energy to run a small town. The perfect album to drink to and remember just why it was you always wanted to start a punk rock band. This album is so good it deserves six stars, not just five."

"Very good CD... some kind of ramones stuff but anterior to them, more complex and melodic, maybe good-punk-rock-with-a-little-pop. This Australian group have always been a musical reference for a many bands (e. hellacopters), althougt they only recorded few albums and dissapeared. Their music is fast, rythmic and well done, once you've herared it you'll never forget. They know how to rock."
The birdmen flew

"the reason for the ten point review is simple although this was a band on their last legs and infighting had ruined the sessions, this is easily their best work later or earlier . recording must have a welsh flavour to it because apart from the bass the production values are tight, with good strong lyrics and a lithe etheral doors type sound and cooper band type lyric. the band though they may vehemently disagee was probably strengthend by a new south welsh band playing their haunted road home of monmouth wales. some of the older songs will please the die hard birdmen fans, but birdmen connoisseurs, supposing they are will like the nod to the doors and later alice sound'detroit leaning'."
