WHY DON'T YOU LISTEN?

"Long for the days of real HIP HOP? The new krop of KRAPPERS (Korny Rappers) has killed HIP HOP DEAD, DEAD, DEAD...That is, mainstream hip hop. BUT PUBLIC ENEMY has come back to prove you can ways fight the power, even if people have forgotten about you. A magnificent work from beginning to end, its 1988 all over again. The sonic beats, the scratching, the hard rhymer and the lyrical joker hit you with a force so strong it sends chills down your spine. Throw away all of your so called "New Hip Hop" cds (Young Jeezy, cash money, blah, blah, blah,etc...)and find out what the heart and soul of hip hop is all about. FIGHT THE POWER!WHY DON'T YOU HAVE THIS ALBUM ALREADY??? GET IT!"
No Realer Than P.E.

"I give this CD a 5 for Chuck D's lyrics alone. If you don't know who Paris is, I suggest you take a listen his CDs "The Devil Made Me Do It" and "Sleeping With The Enemy." You will see why this P.E. collaboration with Paris works so well. There also are guest appearances by MC Ren, Dead Presidents, Kam, and more. I've been a P.E. fan since "Yo Bum Rush The Show" and Chuck D shows again why he's the political and social awareness "hard rhymer." One song I really like is "Plastic Nation" in an era where cosmetic surgery has become so common place that women don't realize the severity of what they do to their bodies in order to try and make themselves look better. Also "Hannibal Lecture" by Paris is another gem. Paris handled all the production and uses his trademark heavy basslines and boom percussions, which makes it good to thump in your trunk as well as the message behind it. Also read the CD insert and you'll see that Paris wrote the majority of the lyrics for the CD and why Chuck D chose Paris for this project. If you aren't ready to hear Chuck D's observations and precise lyrics on the state of the world, society, and our urban communities, I suggest you don't buy any P.E. releases. But for the most part this is truly a solid CD. If you're mature enough to handle the truth, Chuck D's your man. I wouldn't sleep on this one so go out and get a copy."
