Synopsis

Album Description
"The Century Of The Blues" is Professor "Louie" & The Crowmatix fourth studio CD. They have been touring non-stop for the past four years and one question that continually comes up from fans attending their live shows is "Which CD has the most blues songs on the disc?" To satisfy their dedicated fans, Prof. "Louie" & The Crowmatix decided to record a tribute style CD in the blues genre. This blues inspired CD has captured the pure feelings of this proven everlasting musical genre, writing original blues influenced songs as well interpreting some of the most wonderful songs in blues history. "The Century of the Blues" traces some of the steps taken from blues to rock'n'roll, paying homage to the great blues artists and their songs that have contributed so much throughout the years to all musicians around the world. "The Century Of The Blues" is a way of saying "thank you" to just a handful of these great artists. This CD is also dedicated to the Blues Societies, promoters and fans that continue to keep this style of Americana Music and Heritage sound alive. It was a great thrill to make this CD and finally give an answer to the fans that have come to the shows and who have extended so much friendship, loyalty and support. "The Century Of The Blues" has the most Blues songs of all the CD's. SONGS: Century Of The Blues-Thanks Kevin Doherty for a great song initiating the concept of this CD. Some Bad News-Tom Malone's horn arrangements show how integral the horn section is in taking the blues to another place. Clouds In My Heart-dedicated to Muddy Waters & the influence of "The Band" for their multi-instrumental arrangements. One More Day-for the writers & singers of Sea Shanties & the styles of music they brought to America. Ain't No Fun To Me-to Al Green for his mixture of Gospel, Blues, R'n'B & Rock. Sirens In The Night-remembering those who came to America escaping prejudice & starting record labels. Sittin' In My House-19! 30s blues by Bessie Smith honoring women singers & writers. Out To Lunch Eyes-like the novelty tunes of the 1950s & '60s a lighter side of the blues. Shake Your Money Maker-guitarist Elmore James inspirational singing, power & excitement.
