Synopsis

Album Description
Preacher Boy transports 30's-style Delta, jug band, and ragtime music into the 90's, appealing to college and young alternative crowds. His gravelly vocal, bottleneck and fingerpicking guitar are the catalysts for a contagious polyrhythmic groove. "(He) testifies like he's about to expire at any second. He offers up a refreshing and modern take on the blues and is unafraid to cast the genre in a new light." - CMJ

CD Reviews

Sermon at 5!
stacegirl | Bible Belt! | 03/25/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Occassionally, I like to let my hair down, put on my favorite black dress and pick up a brewsky or two while groovin' to some fine licks, on the guitar that is. This is the kind of music that will cause you to fall down on your knees and...well, pray. I don't know about Mr. Waits, but this Preacher makes the earth move with some down home rough throated vocals and a driving beat. But on your sunday finest, sermon starts at 5pm!"
LOVED IT

"This CD is excellent. Preacher Boy's voice is almost exactly like Tom Waits but his music is much more upbeat."
