CD Reviews

A great, if short, album
02/16/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This album is great. Keep in mind, though, it only contains three tracks - two of which are on Odyssey Number Five. You'd be better off buying one of Powderfinger's full albums."
Great hit with solid b-sides
Windle Poons | Bathurst, NSW, Australia | 03/31/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Like A Dog is definitely one of Powderfinger's best single records. It contains the solid rock hit Like A Dog, most people will know, from Odyssey Number Five. Following is the cover of the Psychadelic Furs song 'Love My Way'. This is one of Powderfinger's best ever b-sides. Well worth the listen. It takes the original version and turns it into another song pumping with strong rock rhythms, which has become a Powderfinger trademark of late. Last is Odyssey Number 2. This is a very different song; similar to Number 5 (seen on album of same name) and different to Odyssey Number 1 seen on the My Happiness Single. Instead of a straight-forward, catchy rock song the boys have concentrated on a piece featuring great harmonic and tone quality in voice. It comes out as an overall decent b-side.For those who enjoyed Like A Dog, I recommend skipping this single and going straight to the album, Odyssey Number Five. I would recommend this especially to those who own the album already and are after more talent from Powderfinger."
