James Hall has an audible charisma that oozes everything amazing about rock and roll. Its a record of variable textures for sure but consistantly keeps the grind, dirt and power that makes it great as a whole. This and the other albums James has brought us are incredibly original for the first 10 spins and after the songs are memorized a true coneseur cant help but relisten and reslisten to see what makes the record tick.....and the infuencial range is enormous....its heavy, street smart funky, subversive, angry and enlightened by the ills of society all at the same time.PHAWKING BRILLIANT!!!! The mark of an amazing artist is when the influences are both hidden and apparent synonomously but always wrapped in sincerity......Pleasure Club is as broad and sincere as they come!"
