"The music is vintage Plas. This is a bootleg CD with no legal permission to exist, and no royalties going to Plas, either as a performer or a songwriter. Most of the information in the booklet is either totally false, or 40+ years out of date, starting with the first word, John. His name is Plas John Johnson, Jr - Plas is not a nickname - and he was not born in New Orleans, and that's just in the first sentence. Most of the tracks are from an album he recorded in 1963, under the name Johnny Beecher, titled 'On the Scene'; the rest of the tracks are from another album titled 'Blue Martini', recorded in 1964. In fact, the title of this CD is a track from that same album - Midnight Blue(s). This is good music, but I would not put a penny in the bootlegger's pockets."
