CD Reviews

More fun to have than to listen to.

"What can I say? I was disappointed. As a fan of Pig's phenomenal musicianship, I set certain standards for this EP to live up to. It fell far short, comparatively. The only remix that even came close to challenging the sheer genius of "Wrecked" was Pig's remix of "Everything" (which I am only saying due to the creepy-yet-cliché major seventh vocal harmonization). The title track certainly has it's interesting moments (like the section in 7/8, and an amazing usage of brass) However, the lyrics teeter on the edge of goof-ball, and the whole song lacks pig's mastery of texture and depth. "The Keeper of the Margarita" has its moments of beauty (which grow stale after those same moments are extended into the sixth minute). And "War Pigs" (although an interesting take on it) wasn't a good song back when Black Sabbath did it (and at risk of getting an entourage of hate mail, nor after Faith No More's valliant attempt). As a proud fan of Pig, this album makes a pretty edition to my collection even though it sits in the back and gathers dust like the bowling trophy you put out with the others simply because it's another trophy."
Awesome Raymond Watts stuff here!

"I love this CD. Although not all of the tracks are really really good, War Pigs and Keeper of the Margarita rock! Some of the best stuff done by Pig, worth getting, definately!!!"
A must in your collection.

"whereas the majority of the songs on this release can be found on other pig cds, the ones that aren't are deffinately worth picking up this one for. "prime evil" is one of the best pig songs i've ever heard, and even though i hate black sabbath, this cover of the song "war pigs" is wonderful. a deffinate must in your pig collection."
