For this release, the `poet of the drums' has expanded his quartet to an octet with a guitar, viola, violin and bass. Favre unfolds his compositions into tonal spaces, rich in contrast, using his percussion arsenal and a fragile string trio. Several of the themes give off a breath of melancholy while others are dance-like where rhythm follows melody in complex lines.
