ABSOLUTELY IN THE ITALIAN GROOVE SOUNDTRACK TOP TEN! A GEM!
L. S. Slaughter | Chapel Hill, NC | 05/14/2001
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This one will please all fans of lush, romantic early 70s Italo-funk-sheen. Lush strings, congas, and female worldless vocals fuel this 70 minute edition of IL CORPO (The Body), with some killer organ, psychedelic guitar, even a little tasty wah-wah, and a persistent, serpentine electric bass that bops and stings from start to finish. The three main melodies get various treatments, all rich and expertly produced. Cut 10 is a standout; imagine Timmy Thomas' early 70s soul hit, "Why Can't We Live Together", reimagined by a tasteful soft porn director on psychedelics. Analog synth fans will also be delighted. Put this one on a loop and groove all night until you see nothing but stars.Umilani was ceaselessly inventive during this period after SWEDEN HEAVEN AND HELL and before MUSICA ELLECTRONICA and TODAY'S SOUND (both available on Easy Tempo). No Piccioni or Umilani fan will be disappointed in this super re-release. If you know and love Piccioni's space-funk-spaghetti-love fest "Camille 2000", then IL CORPO will rock your world.Five cheers for the Easy Tempo folks grooving over in Milan."
Musical bliss!
Greg Goodsell | Bakersfield, CA United States | 09/19/2007
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This album is pure musical bliss! The Eurotrash film that this soundtrack accompanies is a mere slip of a thing with exotic locales and pretty girls: Carroll Baker even squeezes in a nude shot at her advanced age! But I had to get this for its light jazz stylings! Track 10 is nirvana! From the genius behind the soundtrack to "Sweden: Heaven and Hell!""
