"For me, this is the *definitive* recording of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition for orchestra. It is such a daringly different approach to a work that is so often given a cookie-cutter treatment. There is so much subtle detail, and many of the tempos are slower than expected, revealing textures in Ravel's orchestration that I never noticed before. A+++."

"Romeo and Juliet never sounded so good! This is an amazing rendition but it is not for casual listening. The genius in Celibidache was his ability to slowly pull the listener in and take you to a whole different world. Yes, his tempos were a little slow here and there but have patience and you will become a lifelong Celibidache fan. Pictures at an Exhibition is powerful and stately but does'nt really do Celibidache justice. Check out his Bruckner interpretations."
