Mcavoy Jr. | Ventura, California United States | 01/01/2008 (4 out of 5 stars) "I have been listening to Jim Svejda's "The Record Shelf" on KUSC in the Los Angeles area for many years. The theme he used to introduce this program was an immediately captivating piece of music. I finally took the time to track it down via the KUSC web site to find out it was the third movement of the Martinu First Piano Quartet. There were only a few ways to get a recording of it and this CD seemed to be the best. This music, the Martinu and the Dvorac, is a real workout. It is wonderful and disturbing music. Get it, study it, learn from it. The specific theme that captured me will delight you!"
