Fascinating- so alive...

"Vienna 1782, Musical duel takes place at the Royal palace of JosephII Emperor. Jos Van Immerseel plays Clementi B-dur Sonata, Op. 24, and makes it clear: Mozart couldn't stand that much of a competency. To make even Van Immerseel plays complete series of Mozart Piano Concertos, with his peers, intelligent, close and loyal orchestra.

Immerseel develops a clear idea about the sound of 18th century concerto. Theatrical ambience is fascinating. KV 491 c moll: Orchestra intro begins with drama, almost a symphony, then clavier exposes the material in the similar manner. It is endless music, and Mozart shines throughout. Cadence is beautiful summary of the main subject. Beautiful! KV 503 C Dur: Ceremonial Hymn as Intro cord in tutti builds the Royal ambience from the first measure followed by arpeggio then scales ... simple beautiful and exciting as only Mozart can create. Illusion is that it feels like we are in the first row of the royal theatre. Then, piano takes the turn. Themes run through endless passages, again beautiful, and somehow they just make a cut through big orchestra and piano moves far through keys, awesome!! Every theme comes to a conclusion by tutti cord, which brings that unique theatrical ambience I never sought before. Well, that's Mozart. Andante is just mastery of elegant style. Violins begin allegretto with childish tinny melody followed by holzer and echo brass and timpani. It is lovely almost jocular, but then in just a couple of measures it all concludes in furious tutt up and down, passage. Silence, and solo clavier makes its appearance with two ornaments...I'll let the rest, words are not enough to tell the beauty, melody and interpretation of these musicians. This musicians make Mozart's music, measure by measure walking through the keys, dynamics and tempos, Simply it is the best performance I heard so far. Booklet is fantastic, too. All is a complete joy. Bravo!
