A Good Debut

"Not being a teenager for a long time has its consequences. One of those is constant skepticism of new bands and music. Having been burned several times, I purchased this CD on the reccomendation of one of my Youth Group girls (who is in love with Kale and very sorry he is married!) I wanted to know what all the fuss was about. What I got was a big surprise. After not really understanding the words initially I sat down with the jacket and read what these guys have to say. I was plesantly surprised to find out that they are right on target biblically. Their words speak of God's love and the power of Christ. Being an old foggie my favorite vcut is AS I LIFT MY HANDS but hte whole album is great. Bon Jovi might cringe a bit at hearing the cover of LIVING ON A PRAYER but it does give a new perspective to the song! This is a great buy. If your kids are into punk or classic rock this is your ticket. Hop on the train and ridw with Philmore. OH Oh We're half way there ------!"
Metal influenced pop-punk?

"5 Minute Walk records did a great thing when they signed the trio known as Philmore. This guys are capital T talented! Although they've been together and playing for a few years, this is their first labeled release. Their style can be classified as pop-punk, but there is a definate metal influence in some of the tracks on the cd. One in particular, "Our Finest Hour" was my favorite. It reminded me of Stryper on the first listen, with its unmistakeable "glam rock" flavor. This influence however, does not make for cheesy music. Instead it adds to the feel of this rock anthem for a new generation of faith based kids on a mission. The rest of the cd rocks as well, with most of the tracks resembling the pop-punk we've all grown accustomed to these days. These guys are GREAT and the cd ROCKS! Just buy it."
