Synopsis

Album Description
"Ghost Story" hits harder than thee previous Phideaux release "Fiendish" but continues in the same vein of intelligent, emotional and melodic space folk rock. Treading the same path as Pink Floyd, Jethro Tull and a bit of early Bowie, Phideaux is a delightful update of the so called classic rock of days gone by (but not forgotten)

CD Reviews

Solid release from an excellent musician

(4 out of 5 stars)

"I am a fan of progressive rock, especially some of the non-traditional bands: Porcupine Tree, Pineapple Thief, Ambeon ... and some of the standards: Genesis, Spock's Beard, Kansas, Pink Floyd, Marillion, etc. Phideaux fits right in with my collection. It is definitely on the non-traditional side, and although I am heavily reminded of Porcupine Tree, Phideaux has a sound all his own. The production quality is first rate, and the musicianship is excellent. If you enjoy the bands I have listed, you will enjoy Phideaux. My favorite track is the opening song, Everynight. The guitar has a strange distortion that fits perfectly in this song. The rest of the tracks are also outstanding ... with Universally being the only mellow track on the album. I have only owned this CD for a short time, but the complexity of the music leads me to believe I will get quite a lot of plays out of this CD.I am glad I discovered Phideaux on the Dutch Progressive Rock Page ... will definitely continue to purchase his releases. I also recommend Fiendish, a slightly more ethereal flavor than Ghost Story and equally enjoyable."
