The real stuff

"This is a great CD. Peter Finger is a german guitarist who should be better known amongst the general public. Finger writes very original classically based acoustic guitar music. There is no place here for new-age music. Finger posses a phenomenal technique, and for someone who uses metal fingerpicks exclusively, is the cleanest acoustic steel string player I have ever heard. Finger's classical influences are the modern composers such as Stravinsky and Debussy. Another unusual aspect of Finger's playing is the amount of single-note playing. Fingerstyle players don't like playing scales because of the difficulty in executing them on steel string guitars. Well, Finger plays scales as fast with his fingers as players do using a plectrum, so if you are a guitarist, hang on to your seat belts. Peter Finger actually plays faster on his other CDs. This is an essential purchase."
Just saw a live concert of Peter Finger

"After seeing Peter Finger at a live concert in a small venue, I bought his latest CD, Blue Moon. I was really looking for "Come to My Window" which was the best song of the second set that night. I am also wanting a recording of "Vive la Vie," which was the best song in the first set and his very first song of the night. It is hard to describe his music but highly stylized, combo of many influences..Flamenco, jazz, folk, a bit of rock. He uses the ENTIRE length of the guitar strings...from the keys to the base of the guitar. Original, energetic, at times wild and occasionally dissonant, and always indescribly gifted. See him if you have the chance. Seeing him do his magic on the fingerboard is incredible."
