"Peter Eldridge's debut jazz outing is one one the most refreshing and inviting discs to emerge from the vocal jazz world in a very long time.Eldridge's ecnomical style and impeccable phrasing are put to good use on these thoughtful arrangements of Rodgers and Hart,Jobim,Dameron, and more. Also a great use of an all star cast of the jazz elite including Michael Brecker, Claudio Roditti and Lewis Nash.I can't wait to see what is in store for jazz lovers next with this young vocal giant.--Lee Wurtsal The Jazz Advocate"
A refreshing new jazz albumn

"If you're a fan of Peter Eldridge, make sure to pick up a copy of Sranger in town; you won't be dissapointed! If you've never experienced Peter's soothing voice , then you're in for a real treat. This CD is done very tastefully, and it includes jazz giants such as Lewis Nash, David Finck, and Andy Ezrin. I first heard of Peter Eldridge when I saw him accompany Jane Monheit on her DVD, Live at the Rainbow Room. Along with Jane Monheit, Peter Eldridge is one of the most exciting new talents to emerge. Also, look for Peter on his New York Voices albumns."
His Voice Has The Power To Captivate Your Ears!

"I'm a new fan of Peter Eldridge!

How will I describe him in one word? I would say, versatile. He's a jazz vocalist, pianist, composer, arranger, lyricist for Brazilian composer Ivan Lins, producer, music teacher at Manhattan School of Jazz (Jane Monheit was one of his students) and a founding member of New York Voices and MOSS.

How did I become a fan? I first heard his beguiling vocal artistry singing one of Cole Porter gems, "Every Time We Say Goodbye" in one of the weekend broadcasts of Radio DeLuxe with John Pizzarelli and featuring his wife and musical partner, Jessica Molaskey. One thing I love about this radio show is that I am being introduced to some of the most outstanding jazz artists I haven't even heard of, and also the live recordings they play, and not to mention their special guests who join them in their "DeLuxe Living Room" playing and singing a lot of great jazz and some Broadway music. And since that first listen, I became an instant fan! It's not hard to fall in love with his incredibly amazing voice seasoned with a great sense of style and enhanced by the material in this lovely CD, "Stranger In Town," which was recorded in 2001 showcasing his solo performances, and won the "Best Jazz CD of 2001" by WICN, a jazz radio station in Boston. This is one of his three solo albums he recorded without the New York Voices and MOSS, where he's a member of both groups.

With its repertoire of thirteen great songs with flawless treatments, and an array of talented jazz instrumentalists to back him up, to mention a few: Michael Brecker showing off his mastery on sax in "Little Did We Know," the beautiful tone of Romero Lubambo's guitar, Andy Ezrin's expertise in piano, Lewis Nash's incredible skills in drums, David Finck's creativity in bass, this CD will definitely give you a delightful listening experience.

Every interpretation is extremely exquisite, moving and executed tastefully in such relaxed manner. He has a great singing voice that has the power to captivate your ears! Listen closely to the entire CD with your undivided attention and focus on the best tracks such as the opener, hauntingly charming "Spring Is Here," a memorable song, "Every Time We Say Goodbye," a heartfelt reading of "If You Could See Me Now," a lovely rendition of "Gentle Rain" with a gorgeous guitar work by Romero Lumambo, a light swing performance of "The Touch of Your Lips" down to the beautiful ender, "Exactly Like You" and you will know what I mean. It reminds me so much of Kenny Rankin's uniquely beautiful style of singing.

This CD is a sure winner and meant to be listened to and enjoyed by jazz lovers for all seasons. With my heartfelt recommendation."
