An intense and comprehensive compilation, Peter Conover's first album is 74 minutes of his most important early work. Folk and folk-rock, mostly acoustic, some electric, and definitely "Dylanesque" in its emphasis on lyrics, lyrics, lyrics, and more lyrics. (Check out Conover's unique treatment of Dylan's "Isis" at track 4.) Recorded "live" in the studio (no dubbing) so what you hear on FALCON is what you would have heard at Conover's live appearances at festivals and in coffeeshops and bars in Austin, Texas and Madison, Wisconsin in the late 90's. The singer/songwriter is joined by percussionists Paula Holz and Valerie Geib on the last three tracks: "Call," "The Wheel Will Turn," and Conover's popular rendition of Charlie Murphy's "Burning Times."
