CD Reviews

The Sun and the Moon are Definitely Getting It On
Tyler Huff | Myrtle Beach, SC | 10/01/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"The name of the album is actually quite a great way to sum up what it feels like. Its a mix of two different parallel universes going back and forth from one to another, and they definitely collide more than just a few times. This album can bring you to such a state of relaxation to the point of feeling hypnotized, but then within the next few songs bringing you to the feeling of absolute intensity. I had the privilege of meeting one of the band members, quite a cool and generous guy because he gave me a copy of the cd, but the best advice I can give to anyone who is reading this is that you must purchase it because out of the 500 to 600 cds in my collection, Perplexa is one of the best that I will ever have in this lifetime. I also got to catch some of the upcoming music for their next album, and as good as this one is, I cant believe how much it seems it will be put to shame, Their music is sheer brilliance, and I can honestly say to anyone, no matter how critical or how close minded you are, even people who despise rock will have something good to say about Perplexa when its all said and done."
Gettin' it on...

"For those uninitiates...there is a world of heavy rock and roll out there known as Stoner rock. The criteraia are hypnotic grooves, droning-trancelike melodies and and an emphasis on loosing yourself in the musical moment, and heavy kick-ass guitars. Well, this would fulfill every criteria except the heavy guitars part. This is the non-heavy equivalent of stoner rock. The music is quite simply, amazing. A combination of acoustic instrumentation and electronic textures that move the listener into dreamlike phases. It is the perfect compliment to any mellow mood. An amazing album. Becareful with it playing whilst driving though you may forget which highway you happen to be driving on."
