CD Reviews

"The Percy Faith Touch is in full swing!"
J. Lovins | Missouri-USA | 07/05/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Following the formula of previous Columbia Record releases ~ they've come up with two more winners for Percy Faith "Today's Themes For Young Lovers" and "For Those In Love", featuring the classic style of sweeping strings that can only spell "Percy Faith" and a haunting of singers. Take for instance the opening track "THE 59TH STREET RIDGE SONG (FEELIN' GROOVY)", from Paul Simon this popular tune gives Maestro Faith a challenge and meet it with flying colors he does ~ "THERE'S A KIND OF HUSH(ALL OVER THE WORLD)", great lyrics with a melody to match, my of the all time favorites during the '60s ~ "CAN'T TAKE MY EYES OFF YOU", outstanding arrangement on this catchy tune that the Faith Chorus puts their signature on .Second half of the album features two Hal David & Burt Bacharach tunes "THE LOOK OF LOVE" and "I SAY A LITTLE PRAYER", there wasn't any two bigger hits during those years and the "Percy Faith Touch" sprinkles it's magic over the orchestration, simply unforgettable ~ "GOIN' OUT OF MY HEAD", is truly a Faith gem, when this came out I played this track over and over again and again, couldn't get enough and I'm still under its spell ~ gotta love it!Total Time: 64:47 on 22 Tracks ~ Collectables 7429 ~ (1/22/2002)"
GREATEST ORCHESTRAL CONDUCTOR OF THE 20TH CENTURY

"IT'S A CRYING SHAME THAT THERE WEREN'T MORE GREAT SOUNDS LIKE THE PERCY FAITH ORCHESTRA (AND CHORUS) IN THE 20TH CENTURY. (HENRY MANCINI & JACKIE GLEASON CAME IN A CLOSE SECOND AND THIRD). ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS LISTEN TO SONGS LIKE "YELLOW DAYS" AND "WORLD OF WHISPERS" TO KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT!"
Great CD!!!!!

"If you've ever listened to the music of Percy Faith, then this is a must for you. I've recently purchased this CD a few months ago. One of my favorite arrangements on this CD include Feelin' Groovy, Yellow Days, There's A Kind of Hush, Music of the Night, Release Me, and many more. Percy's orchestra and backup singers really make this CD a delightful one to listen to. I've taken a trip up to New Jersey in November & listening to this CD along the way up is so relaxing. If I were you, this would make a great Christmas present."
