Pepper's in fine form indeed and all the support is very swinging and happening. Interesting arrangements also, with some tunes starting off with a bass solo (with rhythm support) after the head, then followed by Pepper, etc. Not the usual head, horn, piano, bass solos and finally trading 4s with the drums format. Just an excellent, highly thoughtful and visceral set -- an album to savor."
