Great Songs, Great Movie

"I first enjoyed Phantom of the Paradise when the movie came out and have seen it several times since then on tv. I always thought the songs were great; the lyrics, taken by themselves, are poetic and insightful. I found myself wishing that the mythical "Faust" rock opera which Swan creates was actually a separate and real entity so the songs could be seen in their proper context. When I recently saw Fox Movie Channel's "Behind the Scenes" about the movie, I decided to see if the soundtrack was available on CD. It was and I'm now the proud owner."

"Listen...this movie had a few cute songs and one truly great rock song. For that song alone, this CD is worth the price. "I was not myself last night//couldn't set things right//with apologies and flowers..."
