"A friend of mine told me I should give the album a listen a few weeks ago, and I haven't taken it out of my disc changer since. It starts off blazing with "They Don't Know" featuring Mike Jones. The hook isn't anything special, but both artists have great verses. The album is hot all the way through. Track four, Peepin Me, is one of my favorites. The hook is very catchy and the lyrics are witty and sometimes even funny, such as: "It don't take much, every time my mouth speaks I notice that the region around they crotch leaks". Heh. Paul Wall is known to come with witty wordplay from time to time, but can also speak on more mellow things, such as on the track "My Life". The lyrics are deep, and pretty much everyone can find something in them to relate to.All in all, the album is incredible. The beats are a little different, but still good. I think the beats go perfectly with the type of artist that Paul Wall is. It's a must have for any hip hop fan."

"Paul Wall, the people's champ, comes through for real on his solo effort Chick Magnet. I have been following Paul Wall ever since he was in a duo with Chamillionaire and dropped that "twenty inches sittin low, yep already know, paint drippin off the door..." In Luv Wit My Money. That was my jam. But most may just now recognize Paul Wall from the single STill Tippin with Slim Thug & Mike Jones (another hot anthem). Either way you know him, you know that Paul Wall can spit that fiya and that's just what he does on this album. With dirty south ridin beats and select guest appearances from some of the best lyricists in the south Killer Mike and Bun B, and hustlaz Mike Jones, Slim Thug, Mr. Pookie and Mr. Lucci, there's almost no wrong turns on this album. My favorite song on this joint is the title track Chick Magnet. This song has that riding playalistic type that I love. There's just nothing better than playa ridin music. Other songs that are tight include They Don't Know Me, Dats What It Is, Why You Peepin Me, Oh No, and Did I Change. Paul Wall delivers on his first solo album and it is definitely ridin. I would recommend this to anyone who likes rap music. 4.5 stars. Get some of that Texas flavor with this right here."

"All ya'll gotsta' be crazy!! This is terrible work from one of the greatest. I've tried many times to bump this disc and can't feel any kind of flow or groove, and I've asked many people to do the same...they say the same thing. Don't get me wrong though, I will still support Paul Wall, Watts, Jones, and the whole Swishahouse crew, but c'mon now, who ya'll kiddin??...Now, with that said, Paul Wall's new disc, The People's Champ, is kickin'!! Every song has good flow, good beat, good bass, and collaborations are on point...Buy the People's Champ instead!!..."
