CD Reviews

Three in row!
Michael J Woznicki | Holland, MA USA | 10/07/1999

"Paul Shanklin's third CD is a refreshing blend of humor combined with truth rolled into a great assembly of parodies and songs. Once again we find Shanklin using his talent to show what is really happening in the Washington Beltway. The voices you hear may sound real, but remember they are just actors. Shanklin's unbelievable ability to make fun of the current administration, using the headlines of today is what makes this CD real hit.Even more tracks, 27, than the previous two cds, you`ll get ALGORE PARADISE, HIS SILENCE IS GOLDEN and the Title Track, just to name a few. Rush Limbaugh has played several of the tracks on his show.Janet Reno, Ted Kennedy, Louis Farrakhan and others on the left side should be sitting up and taking notice and Paul Shanklin has created a real gem. This Land was Your Land is the prefect gift for any occasion."
Best in Shanklin's Clinton Years collection

"When I'm in the mood for conservative political parodies (a weekly occurrence for me) I almost always reach for This Land Was Your Land first. It contains the best songs that Shanklin has ever done. You have the parody of "Gangsta's Paradise" called "Al Gore's Paradise" which alone is worth the price of the CD. The other great songs are "All I'm gonna do" a parody of the Sheryl Crow song. Another great song is Shanklin singing as Ted Kennedy "Only Fourteen" riffing the Kennedy family sex scandals. Hilarious. Add in "Tax Cuts" (From "King Tut") and the rest of the songs and you have a great collection for the conservative thinker. Liberals will probably not enjoy this CD however. It is unnecessarily confrontational and can cause any conservatives in the room get all that much more agitated at liberals. But hey, [stinks] to their azz'mar, buy it anyway."
Politcs and Comedy at its best

"Once again, Paul Shanklin, has put out a very funny album show casing some of worst moments of the Clinton White house. With all that has gone on in the White House over the last eight years, sometimes the only thing you can do is laugh and that is exactly what this CD will make you do. 27 tracks of music and quick skits provide 45 minutes of laughter and fun at the expense of the Clinton, Gore, Reno and others. If you love political comedy, This CD is for you"
