Album Description

Patti's new cd "Jesus in Paris" features many of America's greatest gospel singers and musicians. Pastor Andrae Crouch narrates Pearl, the story of a young prostitute finding redemption in the simple message of a street preacher. "America the Beautiful" is made even more beautiful by the haunting saxophone solo of Paul McCandless. Will Kennedy on drums and Jimmy Haslip on bass are remarkably disciplined as they assist Patti into taking Christian music to new heights.

"This CD has a wonderful mixture of both instrumental & vocal songs. Patti McCoy is a truly amazing talent. You can hear her love of Gospel, Jazz & Classical piano all spun together in these recordings. Patti's talent especially shines on her arrangement of the old hymn "What A Friend We Have In Jesus". There is a song "Pearl" with Gospel Great Andrae Crouch narrating & performing along with other songs that include singers that have recorded with Andrae over the years(need I say more?). For a truly uplifting experience get this CD & listen to these recordings."

"When I played Jesus in Paris for a former jazz drummer friend, he was in awe of this sound. He made no comment about the Gospel theme, yet he was clearly moved by the artistry of the musicians. This CD is a great way to introduce folks to Gospel without being in their face. It is truly gorgeous! I have a much better appreciation for Black Church music, which I have often enjoyed and felt transported by, through listening to this album. Hear it and be transformed!"
