The best yet

"Having first discovered Patricia Kaas from the film 'And Now...Ladies and Gentlemen' I was immediately overwhelmed by her voice and her singing style in the musical segments of that film.

This album, released in 2003, shows that Patricia has saved her best for last. The first time I heard it I was taken by the way she has effortlessly changed style. From lush arrangements and heavy production to a bare, stripped-down style. The songs, and her voice, are full of anguish and longing. One doesn't need to understand the French language thoroughly to realise that this is an album of love and loss.

I can only but recommend this as being her best work, and the best new album I have heard in quite a few years."
Kaas goes Rockabilly

"I got this album even before it was released in France because my local import store inadvertently didn't wait until the release date to put it on sale. When I got it I was way into Dans ma chaire, a much more mellow pop album, so I didn't get into this one until recently. But now I have and it is great, one of my favorites from Kaas. She goes rockabilly to great affect. Her smoky voice lends itself perfectly to the harmonica driven songs. My personal favorite is La nuit est mauve. I can't get enough of that song. I have to disagree with the one star review below. Kaas has an excellent voice, and she sings French extremely intelligibly. I know many of her songs by heart simply by listening to her cds. French language chanteuses are now getting popular what with Dion and Farmer and Alizee. I like the latter two, I am not a Dion fan at all, but of all the current singers, Kaas is by far my favorite. As the editorial review stated, she has taken her place along Piaf and Damia."
A landmark album!

"Being a Patricia Kaas fan, I waited months for this cd. Finally, I ordered it from the French sister site of Amazon. Now, when I first received this cd, I hated it. However, after listening to it a few times, I began to love it. This cd, like that of Piano Bar, takes some time to like. Once you like it, you'll fall in love with it. (Hint: to love Piano Bar, you should watch the movie And Now Ladies and Gentlemen. This is a movie Patricia Kaas played in. Piano Bar is the soundtrack album to And Now Ladies and Gentlemen, a movie you need to watch twice to understand). My favorite songs are: Peut-etre que peut-etre, L'Abbe Caillou, Je t'aime, je ne t'aime plus, C'est la faute a la vie et Une question de temps. This album is an absolute hit and I find that I crave to listen to it while driving down the highway. There are absolutely no words to compare it. I hope the first reviewer gave it more of a chance, because you cannot just listen to this cd and expect it to be great. You need to let yourself grow accustomed to it. Give it a chance and you'll be pleasently surprised. Patricia Kaas is great. Currently I am waiting to see if we can get a concert video DVD out of this one like we did from Ce Sera Nous."
